Reflecting Back to One Year Ago at The Postmark

Celebrating with Our Wedding Couples from 2020

Let's reflect on the last year and where we started. We got to meet some amazing couples and families. The Postmark served these couples in 2020 and helped them find a new wedding and reception venue to share their special wedding day. The Postmark was purchased in November 2019. Unexpectedly, a few venues closed, and they left couples high and dry with no place to celebrate with family and friends. When our owners heard, The Staley Family and The Postmark dream team knew they wanted to step in and help. Without question, they were willing to give up a portion of what they would have made to rent the space to provide a space quickly for these couples to celebrate one of the most important days of their lives. We had 10TV of Columbus, Ohio, interview Josh and Michelle Staley about it, and they wrote a story on just how we were able to serve the couples and the thought behind being able to provide the space for them.

We were also featured in Columbus Monthly, talking about opening a wedding venue during the pandemic. 2020 lead to a lot of amazing couples we were blessed to work with. The couples of The Postmark had to endure different hurdles with COVID, but we loved seeing how they could rise above the problems and restrictions. They still celebrated their love for one another —even if it was smaller than planned fashion.

Litter Media, shared our story of a local couple who had to juggle the change of their event many times before they were able to say I do. You can see their story here.

From this, we were able to work with Lacy and Zach, who got married in early September 2020, over labor day weekend. They were such a fun couple, and their family and friends were just as awesome. The two met while working together at a summer job from college as servers at a dine-in movie theater. Zach proposed decorating Lacy's parents’ house at Christmas time with lots of pictures and an aisle of rose petals! We always love romantic proposals.

We also got to celebrate with Chloe and Dakota in September. They also had a space booked for their ceremony when everything changed because of COVID. We were able to have their ceremony with us. She said it sealed the deal with us when she saw a date on our vault. The date was September 20, and they got married on September 19, but the 20th was their special anniversary date.

All of our couples at The Postmark get to leave their mark in history on one of the two vaults in the building, which once held valuables like special pieces of mail, and now hold all the special wishes of our couples all the future couples to come.

Also, in September, Logan and Bailey married at The Postmark, where they also needed a space for the ceremony. It was a beautiful Great Gatsby-themed event.

Kristin and Anthony got married in late October. Their love story began when they met in high school but never dated. They reconnected four years ago when Anthony came back to our hometown for a visit. Anthony proposed on a sunset cruise over dinner in Hilton Head.

Kristin said "After the cruise we went to a jazz show and shared our favorite wine and had our favorite chocolate cake. It was a beautiful night and beyond perfect!"

It sounds perfect to me! Who doesn't love sunset and sharing it with your best friend?

Christy and Mitchell tied the knot and celebrated with us in late October 2020. Here is what they had to say about working with us, through planning and even their big day!

We got to work with Sidney & Pierce in November 2020 and Hailee & Tim Ducote in December. ( pictures to come ). We loved working with them as well as all the others.

Although COVID did cause several postponements of our couples booked in 2020, we are looking forward to celebrating with those couples in the next few months.

We can't wait to see what the next year brings us!
